Information
The complex dates back to the 16th century and extends over Largo San Michele and along Corso Umberto I and Via Carlo Alberto. The main facade of the building is characterized by the symmetry of its elements and the majestic entrance portal. The property before being purchased by the Varo family belonged to Prncipessa Orsini and after the Varo family the Princess of Solofra took over. Later it was divided between several owners and many peculiarities have been lost. Restoration work is underway to enhance the characteristic cellars that open to the ground floor and which will soon host a modern library, equipped with specific content and equipment aimed at disseminating the culture of music.
Palazzo Varo will therefore be a cultural center where you can listen to music, search for documents and scores on large touch-screen screens, challenge friends to cultural games or compose music having a small recording room at your disposal, to borrow a book even during closing times or to be able to attend a narration assisted in a small theater for children. In this library 2.0 it will be possible to write, tell and film stories to be disseminated with creativity and with the contribution of technological innovation.
