It all started in 2015 and the will of the municipal administration to redevelop the urban center with a project of urban art concretized in the beautiful political/ social murals made by international artists on the facade of several buildings that rise in the new area of the village.
The first mural in which the visitor comes across is probably the one placed on the side wall of the building that stands to the left of the Municipal Palace. Created by the Argentine artist Hyuro, the work is inspired by the bread revolt of August 23, 1942, the first popular revolt in Italy against the fascist regime, which saw the women of Monteleone as protagonists.
Going down towards the school building, the visitor will see, on its main entrance, the work of Walter Molli dedicated to Malala Yousafzai which has as its theme the global importance of female literacy. Also by Molli is the mural on a yellow background, located a few dozen meters that portrays Quintino Basso constitutional lawyer, who defended the women of Monteleone rebelled against the fascist regime in '42 and the founding fathers of the Italian Constitution Giuseppe Di Vittorio, Aldo Moro, Giuseppe Dossetti, Giorgio La Pira and Tommaso Fiore.
The works of the Australian Magee and the Bulgarian Nasimo are very beautiful. Fintan Magee is responsible for the huge double mural that can be admired behind the school building and that portrays a young immigrant in the act of holding a cloth; while Nasimo is the mural next door depicting a woman dressed in feathers and chains.
