Information
The wildlife area of wild boar is part of the system of visitor centers of the OSEAP, the Observatory of Ecology Apennines, and is the only one of its kind: it is a fenced area of about 2.5 hectares located within the municipal forest Argaria, inside which live several specimens of wild boar. It offers the optimal situation to observe safely and closely this undisputed protagonist of the Monti Dauni woods.
Born within a research on the ethology of the species by the OSEAP of Roseto Valfortore, it is today used for educational purposes. The ideal place to bring your little ones closer to this mammal.
The management of the area is entrusted to the local hunting associations that take care of the specimens present in the area, also providing them with the food supplements necessary not to exhaust the reserves of the undergrowth of the fenced area.
