Information
The church, built in 1622, has a beautiful white tripartite facade with stone pilasters. The interior space with a basilica plan leads to the high altar, which is added to the 6 sides, all baroque and polychrome. The environment develops along three naves, one of which is merged with the northern arm of the adjacent convent. To furnish the environment are numerous objects of historical and artistic interest. We remember the baroque wooden choir dated 1643, numerous paintings and wooden statues including the seventeenth-century one dedicated to San Potito.
Adjacent to the Church is the convent which was first home to novitiate and wool mill and then study theology. The structure is on two floors according to a rectangular plan and in the center has a pretty seventeenth-century cloister with a well. In its premises has been placed the municipal library with the bottom of the ancient convent library rich of five hundred and six hundred, confiscated by the City of Ascoli after the Unification of Italy.
In the square overlooking the monumental complex it is finally possible to appreciate the remains of the mosaic pavement of a domus of the I sec. d.c.
